Channel Letters are made
Channel Letters are made from a lighting element, metal and plastic. In many cases the plastic weathers and wears out faster than the metal or the light elements. The plastic can be replaced.

Channel Letter faces are made of acrylic vinyl and Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB) plastic trim cap.
We can remake these
We can remake these from new materials. Here is how: We take your old faces off. These are held on with button screws – we bring them back to the shop.
Tracing out the outline on a new piece of acrylic, the shapes are recreated. We take this new sheet and cut them with a band saw. This takes time and skill. Once we have the shape we add trim cap.

Attaching the trim cap. We use nails and hold the trim cap to the acrylic in a form of wedge. There is a special glue that melts the acrylic and the plastic together to make a very strong bond. After the bond is complete, the face is removed, the nails taken away and we have a perfect new face ready for install.
Install is very important
Install is very important. Signs for San Diego has a huge investment in equipment, training and personnel to do installs on building walls. This comes in the form of bucket trucks. These allow us to safely climb up and work on installing each face, using new button screws to affix them and move to the next.
