What are Channel letters?
Channel letters are letters that light up. These are made of Aluminum with acrylic faces.
The “Channel” in the name is for the shape and construction of the letter that channels or directs the light out the front. These are familiar to you because they are on nearly all the retail shopping mall businesses. The reason for this is they are effective. They attract customers in the front door. They are also required be the property manager of most all the shopping mall locations in the United States

We have the people, machinery and licenses to be the provider of choice. This means we buy the raw material in sheets and rolls, Working with you, we shape this into the letter or logo you need and we build them into a final product with the UL sticker ready to go. The equipment needed to do this is expensive, we own it. The people required have extensive training, they work for us. It takes years to be a manufacturer – we have the years of experience.

Channel letters come in all sizes and shapes
We make channel letters as small as 6” and as large as 6 feet. Generally, the size depends on the retail location sign criteria. We can help you figure this out.
Once the size is set, we can provide a range of options, from Helvetica to wild custom. Should you spend the extra money of custom signage? It depends, but you want the channel letter set that makes money for you, that pulls people through the door. Colors are no problem, we can produce most colors from standard translucent vinyl colors, but should you need a custom color, we can print any color. It’s all about you and what will help you most with your customers.
Channel letters lighting
In the “good old days” neon was the light source of choice. That was back as far as the 1920s. Today, it is all about LEDs.
Neon was a difficult process, it involved different chemicals to obtain different colors. While beautiful, it also was source of toxic waste. Maintenance on Neon also is expensive. LEDs are the lighting source of choice today. They last up to 40,000 hours and require little to no maintenance. It is much lower voltage as well. So, it is safer to use, last longer, uses less electrical power, is better for the environment and cost less in maintenance
Dimensional
You may be wondering why dimensional letters are in a channel letter page! It is simple, Channel letters look “dimensional during the day, and light up at night.
In the evening and nighttime, the information needs to be immediate and pull the customer in. Saying too much diminishes your impact. But during the day, a much higher level of communication is possible. We mix dimensional letters with channel letters to get the best of both worlds. This maximized the impact day or night.
Other types of channel letters - Backlit & halo Letters
We will cover this in a different page, but there are different lighting methods for channel letters.
The most common and the most impactful is the front face Illuminated channel letter. It is the brightest, the easiest to read and is the mainstay of retail shopping mall use. There are back lite letters, called halo channel letters. These have special uses, and you may benefit from this type of letter. There are also front and back lite letters.
