Different Types of Lobby Signs
Your Lobby sign must fit your image. We use your logo, branding and the impression you want to make along with your budget to create the ideal lobby sign. For industrial firms,, you may want a simple clear acrylic rectangle mounted on standoffs with a vinyl image. Or you may want a backlit, 3D lobby sign that celebrates your logo and sets the highest possible level of quality.

Acrylic Lobby Signs
Acrylic is a versatile material.
There are an endless number of uses and variations, but here are a couple of popular choices.
Clear acrylic can be shaped in any number of ways. A clear panel mounted on the wall is a great start. On this clear panel, we mount routed letters to give the lobby sign a great 3D effect. Here is an example built for the US Navy. The color is from a vinyl sheet. The yellow letters are acrylic and are computer routed to the perfect shapes. The result is striking. Backlit Lobby Signs
This is a lobby sign for a credit union.
It is mounted behind the teller stations. It is a high end sign with routed letters. Inside and behind the letters are LEDs. This is a form on Halo Letter. In channel letters these are constructed in Aluminum. These are Acrylic. Each letter starts with a 2 inch sheet. We route or remove the material we do not want. This means there is a cavity in each letter for the LEDs. The color is paint from our Matthews Paint System. The paint is a custom color. We can mix any color. The mounting is on “standoffs”. These are screwed into the wall. There are holes in the wall. The LED 12 V wires go through the wall and there is a power supply on the other side. Are you looking for a backlit lobby sign? You will need a space behind the sign that will not be a cosmetic problem. A closet, a utility room or other non-public area OR a covering like a pan or raceway.
Second Surface Acrylic Lobby Sign
Lobby Signs use different techniques to attract attention. Second surface printing is one of those ways. This is a print on the back of the face (the 2nd surface) with a mirror image of the desired image. Looking through the acrylic, the image appears to have depth. The acrylic has a shin to is. The ink is translucent so the replaced light off the painted wall behind the sign reflects through the sign making it glow. Printing on the 2nd surface protect the image from onlookers.

Dimensional Letter Lobby Sign
This is the entire wall section and is a series of rectangles.
These are blue vinyl covered but could have been a full image is wanted. On top are letters made in a brushed Aluminum. Each was routed into the desired shape and mounted with a pattern. One might wonder how we achieve a perfect alignment. This is done with a paper pattern. The pattern is computer driven and printed in a plotter. The result is a drawing that is taped in place and shows the exact location for each letter. In this case, each letter is applied with a double sided tape and adhesive.
